Here is some important information for the 2023 camping season.
Alberta Parks online reservations on Reserve.AlbertaParks.ca are a year-round service. Having the start of reservations differ according to each campground’s season opening date and the advance booking window will help reduce the volume of online users and promote fair opportunity and access for all Albertans.
Reservations can be made 90-daysin advance for individual and backcountry camping and 180-days in advance for group and comfort camping. The first date when reservations can be made will be 90 days before the campground’s season opening dates.
Some campgrounds are listed as open year-round. The booking window for those campsites open 90 days in advance of your arrival date.
The booking window advances by one day each morning at 9:00 a.m. to provide fair and equal access to both online and call centre users. Your arrival date must be within the designated booking window before a reservation can be made. Once you select your arrival date, you can book up to the next 10 days, depending on availability.
While the booking system will now be available year-round, campers are still required to book within each campground’s seasonal dates. You can view a full list of campgrounds and their opening and closing dates below.
Campers can book a maximum of 10 consecutive nights per reservation to enable fair and equitable access for all campers.
This helps reduce booking changes, overbooking and no-shows, which gives more Albertans the opportunity to experience camping in our provincial parks.
Campers can stay for a total of 16 consecutive nights in an individual, backcountry and comfort campsite; however, multiple reservations must be made. The maximum stay in a group camping area continues to be five (5) consecutive nights.
