Cooking Lake-Blackfoot Provincial Recreation Area

Officially named Cooking Lake-Blackfoot Grazing, Wildlife and Provincial Recreation Area, this park supports a variety of outdoor recreation activities, as well as grazing and Indigenous and seasonal hunting.

 

 


Round Up Trail links trails in Central Staging Area to those in Blackfoot Lake Staging Area. In winter, this trail is shared equestrian and cross-country skiing. It is normally set with one track, but double track set in January for the Canadian Birkebeiner Ski Festival. 


  • During the first two weeks of February, this trail is set with two tracks for the Canadian Birkebeiner Ski Festival and equestrian use is not permitted.
  • In summer, bikes are permitted only on the northern section of the trail, from the junction with Cycling Connector.
