Officially named Cooking Lake-Blackfoot Grazing, Wildlife and Provincial Recreation Area, this park supports a variety of outdoor recreation activities, as well as grazing and Indigenous and seasonal hunting.

There is good wildlife viewing along this trail, especially for whitetail deer. In winter, the trail is packed for skate skiing, dog sledding or fat-tire biking.
Closed to equestrian use from December 1-April 1.
