Officially named Cooking Lake-Blackfoot Grazing, Wildlife and Provincial Recreation Area, this park supports a variety of outdoor recreation activities, as well as grazing and Indigenous and seasonal hunting.

This trail is separated (east and west) by the staging area access road. This west section follows the boundary fence to Norris Lakes and beyond, eventually turning into Springs trail.
No equestrian use on this section of the Faraway trail.
