A Kananaskis Conservation Pass is required to park your vehicle in Kananaskis and the Bow Valley. Ice Safety: Alberta Parks does not monitor ice conditions; learn how to assess them for yourself.

This is the highest maintained trail in the Canadian Rockies and it crosses over the top of Mt. Allan providing exceptional views. Allow 4-6 hours to the summit (2819 m/9,249 ft) and 6-9 hours for the total length of trail. To access this trail from Ribbon Creek Day Use Area parking lot, take Hidden Trail which connects to Coal Mine Trail.

Annual Seasonal Closure: April 1 - June 21 for the protection of bighorn sheep during sensitive birthing period
