West Bragg Creek Trail Report

Trail Maps

Updated: October 20, 2018 | Print Report

There has been a large early season snowfall, however warmer temperatures have helped to reduce the snowpack. Expect trails to be variable in condition from packed snow and icy or slushy at higher elevations, to melting and becoming slushy or muddy, then drying out at lower elevations as temperatures increase. Early season avalanche conditions exist, take care while traveling in the backcountry.

Notes:

  1. Early season snow has started to fall. Check for avalanche information on the Avalanche Canada website. Pack appropriately for changing conditions, including traction devices/hiking poles, and don't forget to dress in layers!
  2. Be wildlife aware! Traveling in groups, keeping pets on leash and carrying bear spray is highly recommended. See the Wildlife Safety page for more information.
  3. The All Season Trails system was created in partnership with the Government of Alberta and the Greater Bragg Creek Trails Association (GBCTA). Please visit the GBCTA website to learn more.
  4. Caution is advised for natural hazards such as downed trees and snow/ice on trail.
