West Bragg Creek Trail Report

Trail Maps

Updated: June 21, 2018 | Print Report

West Bragg Creek trails have variable conditions, with dry and wet/muddy conditions on the multi-use trails, please allow these areas to dry out to prevent damage to the trails. Hiking, riding and equestrian use are possible, but please avoid or bypass wet areas, often found in lower dips and trail depressions, to reduce damage.

Notes:

  1. Be wildlife aware! Bears are out, carrying bear spray is highly recommended. See the Wildlife Safety page for more information.
  2. Ticks are out for the season. Wearing a hat, plus covering up with long-sleeved shirts and long pants while recreating in grassy or wooded areas is recommended. Check for ticks once you are off the trail. Further information on how to avoid and remove ticks can be found on the MyHealth.Alberta website.
  3. Horse use is not permitted on the West Bragg Creek cross-country ski trails from December 1 to March 31 annually. The ideal location for winter equestrian use at West Bragg Creek is Mountain Road, as footing on portions of other all season trails can be unsafe during the winter months.
  4. The All Season Trails system was created in partnership with the Government of Alberta and the Greater Bragg Creek Trails Association (GBCTA). Please visit the GBCTA website to learn more.
  5. Caution is advised for natural hazards such as downed trees and other natural hazards.
