Information: 403-678-0760
Lat: 50.637443 Long: -115.009242
Due to the remote nature of these campgrounds, cleaning and sanitizing of shared surfaces is infrequent and users should be ready to sanitize high-touch surfaces upon their arrival. Be prepared with your own hand sanitizer and toilet paper. Note that cleaning supplies may be wildlife attractants, and should be stored in your food locker and away from your tent. When campgrounds are open and where it is feasible, outhouses will be open. Please help to limit the spread of COVID-19 by maintaining physical distancing from other campers.

Elbow Lake Backcountry Campground is in Peter Lougheed Provincial Park, 75 km south of Hwy. 1 on Hwy. 40. The closest access is at Elbow Pass Day Use Area. It is 1.3 km from the trailhead via Elbow Lake Trail. There are around 15 tenting pads in the forest along the emerald green lake. Here there are firepits, pit/vault toilets, and secure food storage lockers.

This trail is 1.3km one way with 125 meters of elevation gain and is rated easy.

Note: While there are group firepits available, firewood is not provided at this site. Please note that it is illegal to remove, deface, injure or destroy trees and using dead wood lying on the ground for firewood is also prohibited.
