The Cougar Creek drainage was once a small, meandering drainage but following the flood event in 2013, has been scoured wide. It's impressive to hike this route and remember that the tiny little creek created this wide drainage. The trail leaves the Cougar Creek parking areas in Canmore, AB and continues upstream passing numerous bolted climbing routes.

Closure: From the junction of Montane Trail and Lady MacDonald Trail upstream for approximately 1 km, until further notice. For blasting relating to the Cougar Creek Flood Project.

Warning: Frequent cougar sightings in the Town of Canmore, Bow Valley Wildlands Provincial Park and the surrounding area.
