After hiking this steep trail and scramble, you will emerge on the Northern most point along the front range, offering spectacular views on the prairies stretching eastward and a panorama of other ridges and mountains.
This day hike starts off as moderate grade single track through Aspen forests before gaining elevation through subalpine meadows and scree slopes. Keep left at the creek for a gentler ascent on switchbacks.
At the summit, soak in the views of Beaver Mines Lake below, Windsor and Castle Peak to the southeast and the Flathead range to the west.
Proper footwear is essential. Insect repellent is strongly recommended for the Aspen forest section of the hike.
Please be advised there are strenuous sections and some scrambling required.
Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
