Camp in the Castle

Castle Provincial Park offers a wide range of camping opportunities from basic first come first serve to comfort camping and everything in between, park and campground map.

Designated Camping Areas

• Formerly random camping areas, Designated Camping Areas are rustic campgrounds with basic facilities such as vault toilets and firepits. Equestrian camping facilities are available at the Designated Equestrian Camping Area. 
• Camping is available on a first-come, first-served basis, with camping fees in effect
• Further information on each designated camping area can be found on each campground page (Area 1, Area 2, Area 3, Area 4, Area 5, Area 7, and the Equestrian Camping Area) and on the Designated Camping Areas Map.

Backcountry Camping

• In Castle Wildland Provincial Park, tent camping in the backcountry is allowed without a permit.
• Vehicle camping is prohibited in the wildland park. Camping at staging areas and day use parking lots is prohibited.
• Your campsite and fire must be at least 1 kilometre from any facility and road and must be at least 50 metres from any trail.
• Please practice traceless camping methods including dismantling fire pits and packing out all your supplies and garbage.

Individual Campsite Campgrounds

• Beaver Mines Lake, Castle Falls and Castle River Bridge campsites are available by reservation only. Visit Shop.AlbertaParks.ca to locate and book your campsites.
• Lynx Creek campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please find your campsite and register at the registration vault in the campground.

Comfort Camping

• Visit Shop.AlbertaParks.ca to book your comfort cabin.
• Beaver Mines Lake: These cabins offer a serene and rustic cabin camping experience in the shadow of Table Mountain with a great view of the lake!
• Castle River Bridge: These cabins offer electricity and close proximity to the main highway. Nestled in the forest, enjoy the river and cliffs of Castle River.

Group Camping

• Group camping is available by reservation at Syncline Group A and Group B.
