March 10: Conditions remain on the icier side but groomed trails are in good condition. Tracks on natural snow trails were difficult to set due to the recent changes in temperature and precipitation and so are not in the best condition; skate skiing remains in good shape. Tracks on machine-made snow trails (Banff to the meadow, Banff Loop, Olympic, Biathlon trails) are in good condition.

All machine-made snow trails received a complete grooming reset last night, as did Rundle North. Banff Natural, Meadowview, Bow, and Silvertip received a skate lane refresh.  Parking lots are extremely icy. Please use caution at this time.

CURRENT CLOSURES: Construction of the Bow Valley Fireguard started within the Canmore Nordic Centre Provincial Park on August 18th. This work involves mechanical tree removal and forest thinning with log hauling through the park. To ensure the safety of visitors around work areas and haul roads, some of the upper trails will remain closed during this time.

Closed until Spring 2026:

  • Backdoor, Killer Bees, Laundry Chutes, Nector Noodle, Oven, & Ziggys
For all emergencies on trail please dial 9-1-1 & report that you're in Kananaskis Country at the Canmore Nordic Centre Provincial Park.

We recommend carrying bear spray year-round. Please report any carnivore sightings (bears, wolves, cougars) to Kananaskis Emergency Services by calling (403) 591-7755.
