Natural Region Description

Police Outpost is located near the Alberta-U.S. border and is Alberta's most southerly provincial park. The park preserves a small area typical of the foothills parkland sub-region of the Parkland Natural Region. A Northwest Mounted Police outpost was established at this location in 1891 to control smuggling. Well-protected private campsites and well-maintained hiking and mountain biking trails. Outpost Wetlands Natural Area is located nearby.
