Natural Region Description

This park occupies an area of sandy outwash on the north shore of Moose Lake. Forests of jack pine, aspen and white birch cover most of the park, although there are a few open areas and small black spruce and tamarack bogs. Nearly 100 bird species and more than 200 species of vascular plants have been recorded in the park. The park's hiking trails go through dense aspen, pine and spruce forest.
