COVID-19 Updates: Taking steps to return to normal.

  • Closure - Moose Lake PP (1)

    Effective:  September 12, 2022

      Moose Lake Provincial Park is now closed for the 2022 camping season.

      Alternate camping opportunities are available at Cold Lake Provincial Park until October 11th.

      See you in 2023.

  • Blue-Green Algae - Blue Green Algae at Moose Lake

    Effective:  August 15, 2022

      General precautions
      • Avoid all contact with blue green algae blooms. If contact occurs, wash with tap water ASAP.
      • Do not swim or wade in any areas where blue-green algae is visable.
      • Do not allow your pets to swim or wade in these areas or to eat fish or fish trimmings from the lake.
      • Consider limiting human consumption of fish from the lake.

      Blue-green algae bloom advisories are issued and rescinded by Alberta Health Services. Typically, advisories are lifted in late autumn, when water temperatures are so cool that blue green algae growth is no longer supported.

    • Water Advisory - Moose Lake PP

      Effective:  May 20, 2022

        • There is non-potable water available at this time.
        • Campers are advised to bring drinking water.
        • Water tanks can be filled up at Franchere Bay PRA Campground.
