| Natural Region Description | Some of the highest-quality lakes, beaches and shorelines in Alberta are found in Lakeland Provincial Park and adjacent recreation area. The full range of forest communities of the central mixedwood sub-region of the Boreal Forest Natural Region, including old growth spruce-fir stands, are found in the park and recreation area. Lakeland is home to more than 200 bird species and a diverse range of boreal forest mammals. |
