Select roads, campgrounds, day-use areas, trails, and areas of Kananaskis Country will be temporarily closed before, during, and after the 2025 G7 Leaders’ Summit in June. Check for closures before you go.

A Kananaskis Conservation Pass is required to park your vehicle in Kananaskis and the Bow Valley.

Spray Lakes West Campground is found in Spray Valley Provincial Park, 16 km south of Canmore on the Smith Dorrien/Spray Lakes Trail (Hwy. 742). Once you visit this peaceful campground on the shores of the Spray Lakes Reservoir, you may never want to leave! There are sites suitable for both RVs and tents, many of which are very close to the lake. Here you can enjoy hiking trails, boating, fishing, and wildlife watching in beautiful Rocky Mountain surroundings.

Hiker/Cyclist Camping (July 5 - September 15)

Food lockers, a bike tool maintenance stand, and bike racks are available to cyclists in the overflow camping area near the campground entrance. More info.

Firewood

Firewood available for purchase on site from the campground manager.

Water

Non-potable water is available from a hand pump at this site. Although Alberta Parks strives to maintain water quality, we recommend that you bring your own drinking water.
