  • Canmore Area Cow Elk

    Effective:  December 20, 2021

      • Effective Date: December 20, 2021 until further notice
      • Where: Areas around the Bow River including Larch Island, Bow River Loop Trail, Bow Valley Wildland Provincial Park, Canmore Nordic Centre Provincial Park, Town of Canmore Land
      • Why: Aggressive Elk - Cow elk charging when public is too close

  • Construction Advisory - Grassi Lakes and Goat Creek Parking Lot

    Effective:  November 25, 2021

      • Effective Date: November 25, 2021 - December 3, 2021
      • Where: Grassi Lakes and Goat Creek Parking Lot 
      • Why: There will be intermittent closures of parking to accommodate construction equipment and to ensure safe distances from mulching equipment are maintained, but some parking and all trails will remain accessible.

      Heavy equipment and crews will be on site completing tree removal and mulching work. Caution should be used, particularly around heavy equipment, and all posted signage and closures must be obeyed 

  • Closure - Grassi Lakes Interpretive Trail

    Effective:  November 10, 2021

      • Effective Date: November 10, 2021, until further notice
      • Where: Grassi Lakes Interpretive Trail
      • Why: Please be advised that the Grassi Lakes Interpretive trail, also known as the "hard" trail is closed seasonally during this time of year due to hazardous and icy conditions. Note that the Grassi Lakes Upper Trail, or the "easy" trail remains open.
