Update February 10, 2023: Alberta Forestry, Parks and Tourism is reopening the Goat Creek day use area and extending the closure of the Grassi Lakes day use area. The Grassi Lakes and Goat Creek day use areas were closed in April 2022 to support construction activities and ensure the safety of staff and contractors. Grassi Lakes will remain closed until summer 2023 due to rockfall hazard.

      Closures lifted:

      • Goat Creek day use area
      • Goat Creek trail
      • Ha Ling trail
      • East End of Rundle scrambling route

As a result of the closure, there has been limited foot traffic in the area. Snow is not packed down and, at high elevations, could be deep. If you are planning to explore the area this weekend, please take precautions and expect winter conditions.
