- Permitted activities may vary within a park. Please confirm details with park staff.
- Be Bear Smart: Resident black bears live and reside in Vermilion Provincial Park, sightings are common and should be anticipated. Download our Bear Smart pamphlet to learn more about living with wildlife, such as bears or contact the Park Office for more info.
- High populations of Richardson’s Ground Squirrel exist at Vermilion Provincial Park. Campers will encounter high populations of ground squirrels in human-altered areas (mainly, the campground and picnic areas). To minimize their presence in your campsite:
- Never feed them (feeding wildlife is illegal in all parks and protected areas)
- Secure food attractants in your vehicle or hard sided containers
- Do not leave bags or tents unzipped and open
High populations of ground squirrels, (while a nuisance to some) do not pose a direct risk to human health or safety.
Alberta Parks is working to reduce their populations over time through active grassland restoration and encouragement of predation by raptors.
- Mini Golf is open during the summer season. $2.00 per person. Will accept cash, debit and credit cards.
