Join a park interpreter for a 1.5 hour guided tour into the Archaeological Preserve at Writing-on-Stone/ Áísínai’pi. The cultural landscape of Writing-on-Stone / Áísínai’pi, a UNESCO World Heritage site, integrates the natural environment, cultural features, human experiences and spiritual perceptions into one. Here in this unique setting, Indigenous people came for centuries and recorded their experiences and visions on the sandstone cliffs of the Milk River Valley. This extensive rock art collection depicts generations of knowledge, traditions and history. Join a Park Interpreter for a guided walking tour of the Archaeological Preserve where the history, stories and the language of the Niitisippi people are woven together to provide insight into the meaning of the carvings (petroglyphs) and paintings (pictographs).
Park interpreters delight, inform and inspire visitors with evening programs about the park's rich natural and cultural history. Due to COVID-19 we have reduced capacity to offer regular evening programs for the 2020 season.
