Information & Facilities

The Oldman Dam Provincial Recreation Area in the scenic Southwestern prairies of Alberta contains two reservable campgrounds, a reservable group camp, as well as two first-come, first-served campgrounds. You will find ample opportunity to access the waters and explore from the many day use areas. Enjoy camping and many water and wind-based sports, such as windsurfing, kitesurfing, powerboating, and fishing.

Ice Fishing: A bait ban is in effect. Consult the Alberta Guide to Sportfishing Regulations for details about restrictions and licenses.

Boating: Power boating, water-skiing and sailing are permitted in the Oldman River Reservoir.
Reservoir levels can change throughout the year. To ensure all boat launches and docks are useable, please check the reservoir level through the Alberta River Basins report.
Wildlife Viewing: Castle River Wildlife Day Use Area
Windsurfing: Access from Windy Point Campground. Wind surfers may access the reservoir at the boat launch after campground is closed.
