Please be advised that a Blue-Green Algae Advisory has been issued for Winagami Lake Provincial Park. To protect yourself, pets and children, avoid contact with blue-green algae blooms. Potential side effects could include; Skin, eye and ear infections if you come in contact with the water, vomiting and diarrhea if the water is consumed. Persons experiencing illness after having contact with lake water are advised to call Health Link at 811

Blue-green algae bloom advisories are issued and rescinded by Alberta Health Services. Typically, advisories are lifted in late autumn, when water temperatures are so cool that blue green algae growth is no longer supported.
The Winagami wading pool has been closed because it is no longer feasible to maintain the aging infrastructure and repair vandalism. Planning is underway to provide new recreation opportunities.
