Lesser Slave Lake Provincial Park

Alberta Parks

Berry BINGO

Tour the campground and hiking trails in search of edible berries from the forest! When the berries aren't out yet, you can still identify a berry-bearing plant based on its flowers and/or leaves.

  • While it is okay to taste a few edible berries in provincial parks, they are very important food sources for the wildlife and they play an important role in re-seeding the ecosystem, so you must get permission from a Conservation Officer before picking large quantities.
  • Never eat any berry unless you are 100% certain of what it is and that it is safe to eat.
