Natural Region Description | This area protects the west shore of Garner Lake, portions of the tributary creek, the fen, and adjacent upland areas. Typical plant species include black spruce, trembling aspen, various willow species, prickly rose, cattails, bulrushes, nodding wood-reed, reed grasses, sedges, knight's plume and sphagnum mosses. The area also contains iron mineral springs and is home to 11 orchid species including white adder's-mouth, which is one of the more rare orchid species in Alberta. |
