A Kananaskis Conservation Pass is required to park your vehicle in Kananaskis and the Bow Valley.
  • Construction Advisory - Ribbon Creek Area Trails

    Effective:  June 18, 2024

      • Effective Date: June 18 to June 28, 2024, or until further notice.
      • Where: Ribbon Creek area trails
      • Why: Construction crews will be present on the trails surrounding Ribbon Creek continuing work on the guard to support the Ribbon Prescribed Fire Project. Be advised crews will be utilizing OHVs on trails to complete the work however no burning will be taking place.

  • Bear Warning - Kananaskis Country Golf Course

    Effective:  May 17, 2024

      • Effective Date: May 17, 2024, until further notice
      • Where: Kananaskis Country Golf Course including the parking lots, Club House, maintenance compound, and other buildings.
      • Why: Multiple bears frequenting the area both grizzly and black.

    Although an advisory is in place for this area, bears can be encountered anywhere in the Kananaskis Region at any time. To avoid a surprise encounter with a bear:

    • Make plenty of noise and travel in groups.
    • Be aware of your surroundings. Look and listen for bears and their signs.
    • Keep your pet on a leash.
    • Carry bear spray. Make sure it’s easily accessible, and know how to use bear spray.

  • Wedge Connector Trail Bridge Washout

    Effective:  July 1, 2021   Updated:  June 4, 2024

      • Effective Date: July 2021, until further notice
      • Where: Wedge Connector Trail as it crosses Evan-Thomas Creek.
      • Why: A heavy rain event in July 2021 once again washed out this bridge. During the winter season and when water levels are low the crossing is generally manageable, however during spring runoff and times when water levels are higher, crossing will be dangerous and impassable.
