Internationally recognized as an Important Bird Area, the Lois Hole Day Use Area is your portal to explore Lois Hole Centennial Park and the various ecosystems that make for excellent birdwatching opportunities. The Day Use Area includes a parking lot, outhouse, picnic shelter, and access to the trail network.
Boardwalk Trail brings visitors through the wetlands of Big Lake and ends at the BLESS Viewpoint Platform, an excellent spot for spotting wetland birds and waterfowl. Many of the trails meander through the forest, including Coyote Trail, which is wide, relatively flat and packed with crushed gravel and suitable for wheelchairs. Meadow Trail brings visitors through the rolling hills and tall grasses of the park. Biking is also permitted on some trails. The St. Albert Red Willow Trail System connects with Lois Hole Centennial at the BLESS Viewpoint Platform.
Visitors are reminded that feeding birds is not permitted within Alberta’s provincial park and protected area system.
