Details: Visitors are reminded to keep an attractant free site when visiting the park to reduce the risk of bear encounters. 

Although an advisory is in place for this area, bears can be encountered at any time. To avoid a surprise encounter with a bear:

• Make plenty of noise and travel in groups.
• Be aware of your surroundings. Look and listen for bears and their signs.
• Keep your pet on a leash.
• Carry bear spray. Make sure it’s easily accessible and know how to use it.
• Secure attractants like food, garbage, pet food and any scented items in hard sided vehicles or bear proof lockers.
• Learn more about bear safety.

Report sightings and incidents to 310-LAND (5263).

Details: The Campground Booth's last day of operation is Friday, September 11. Carson Cove Store’s last day of operation is Sunday, September 13.

Where: Carson Cove Store VisitorCentre , Carson-Pegasus Campground

Details: Campground Loops A, B and C will close for the season on Wednesday, September 9. Campground Loops D, E and F will close for the season on Monday, September 14. Campground Loops G and H will move to first-come, first-served on Monday, September 14 for the winter camping season. Power will remain on for the winter. Please bring your own water and firewood. Payment by cash and cheque can be made at the self-reg vault located just past the Seawall Parking Lot, at top of hill from the beach. Power sites are $30 and Walk-in Tenting sites without power are $22.

Where: Carson-Pegasus Provincial Park

Details: The water system will be shut down September 14, or earlier if the temperatures dip below freezing. The shower houses, campground water taps, and the sani-dump station will not be available. Please bring your own water.
