Nestled in the trees beside a quiet lake, Carson-Pegasus Campground provides unparalleled relaxation and recreation amid the splendor of northern Alberta's boreal forest. Reel in a trout from the province's only lakeside sea-wall, paddle the serene waters of McLeod Lake, explore a range of hiking and biking trails, or spend a beach day frolicking in crystal clear water. A short drive north of Whitecourt in Carson-Pegasus Provincial Park, this campground offers two playgrounds and a variety of sites suited to RVs and tents.
Location: 6 km west of Whitecourt on Hwy. 43, 11 km north on Hwy. 32 & 5 km east on access road.

- Birding: loons, grebes, goshawks, ruffed grouse, great horned owls, pileated woodpeckers, hairy woodpeckers, downy woodpeckers, northern three-toed woodpeckers, blue jays, grey jays, black-capped chickadees, boreal chickadees, evening grosbeaks and white-winged crossbills.
- Ice fishing: boat launch parking area plowed for ice fishing access.
- Power boating: 12 km/h speed limit on McLeod Lake; electric motors only on Little McLeod Lake.
- Snowmobiling: access to lakes only; snowmobiling not permitted elsewhere in the park; snowmobile staging permitted only from boat launch parking lots.
- Wildlife viewing: mule deer, white-tailed deer, moose, black bear, weasel, mink, muskrat, beaver, snowshoe hare, chipmunk, red squirrel, porcupine, coyote and lynx.
