Alberta Parks

Volunteering as an Individual

Welcome! Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Alberta Parks.

Alberta Parks’ volunteers work directly with department staff. We use the Canadian Code for Volunteer Involvement to guide our work. We share the Code’s values and guiding principles and we aspire to reach and maintain its standards of practice with every volunteer deployment.

To help us meet our responsibilities for safe and successful volunteer placements, we actively recruit to positions when assistance is required and where appropriate staff support is available.

When volunteer opportunities are available, an invitation to apply will be posted under the province-wide or local opportunities below. If no opportunities are listed, we are not accepting applications at this time. You are encouraged to check back regularly, especially between January and May when most recruiting occurs.

    Province-wide Opportunities

    Safety First

Our workplace culture places the highest priority on health and safety.  All Alberta Parks’ volunteers are considered to be our workers when on duty and, like our staff, are expected to comply with our workplace health and safety policies, program and practice. Specific expectations vary with roles and further information will be provided to individuals upon commencement.
