Off-Highway Vehicles (OHVs) and Snowmobiles

    Snowmobiles:

    Snowmobiles are only permitted on designated winter snowmobiling areas in Castle Provincial Park and Castle Wildland Park, as indicated on the trail map and on park signage from December 1 to April 30.

    Off-Highway Vehicles:

    OHVs are only permitted on designated summer OHV trails in Castle Provincial Park and Castle Wildland Park, as indicated on the trail map and on park signage. Note that wheeled motorized use is limited from May 1 to November 30.

    Please be respectful when using trails, be cautious of non-motorized trail users, and stay clear of wildlife. The use of OHVs on undesignated trails, non-OHV trails, or roads is strictly prohibited.

    Every off-highway vehicle (OHV) operating in the Castle parks must have:

    • Valid registration and insurance
    • Exhaust muffler with spark arrester
    • Approved helmets for all off-highway vehicle users
    • Direct adult supervision for operators under the age of 14 years.
    • A license plate that is securely attached on front or rear of OHV and visible to other operators
    • Head lamp on the front of the vehicle capable of emitting a white/clear light of sufficient intensity to illuminate a person or object from at least 60 metres (185 feet)
    • Tail lamp on the vehicle rear capable of emitting a red light visible from at least 60 metres (185 feet)
