The path winds through a wide variety of rich habitats, where an abundance of diverse plants and wildlife thrive.  The trail head in Long Lake Provincial Park is accessible during operating season (May to October).  There is parking at the trailhead.  The trail can also be accessed year-round from Township Road 621 at the southern end of the Natural Area.
