Notikewin Provincial Park is located at the confluence of the Peace and Notikewin Rivers and offers camping and outdoor recreation opportunities in a densely forested valley. The campground encompasses 19 beautifully treed, unserviced sites that are available for first come, first served camping. Go for a paddle along the river, try your hand at fishing for Walleye or Northern Pike from shore, explore the hiking and biking trails, or keepaneye out for over 26 species of wildlife that call the park home.

This park has a rich history as the location of several battles between the Cree and Dane-zaa (Beaver) First Nations, influencing the park being named ‘Notikewin,’ the Cree word for battle. Notikewin also has roots to the Hudson’s Bay Company which operated Battle River House trading post on the southern bank of the Notikewin river. Steam-powered boats traverse the Peace River for 50 years in the early 1900s, transporting goods, trappers, settlers, and missionaries.
