Ram Falls Day Use

Information: (403) 845-8349 Rocky District Office
Season: May 1 - Oct 8

Travel the scenic forestry trunk road to take in one of Alberta’s most iconic waterfalls. Keep your eye out for Bighorn Sheep along the banks of the river, as they like to climb up and spend time overlooking the water.

The day use area at Ram Falls Provincial Park has a few amenities that make it a lovely place to spend a day. There is a large picnic shelter with a stove, a nice open space to set up a picnic, and some shaded fire pits with benches.

While there is no firewood available on site, there are vault toilets to make your visit more comfortable. Please ensure you bring firewood, drinking water, and a map of the area if you plan to visit. Cellphone reception is quite spotty, and the nearest gas station is in Nordegg, about 65km away.

Notes

    • Recent changes to the recreation area regulation under the Public Health Act have affected provision of drinking water in this day use area – we cannot absolutely guarantee that water from hand pumps is free of pathogens because of the risk of ground water contamination. As a result, Alberta Parks recommends that you bring your own drinking water.
    • This is an unserviced site. Please remember to bring your own firewood to enjoy your stay.
