Details: As of September 8, 2026, Mitchell Lake has transitioned to winter seasonal operations and is officially closed for regular campground use. During this period services and facilities are limited or unavailable. The campground is not open for overnight camping. Visitors are asked to respect all posted closures and regulations during the winter season. We look forward to welcoming campers back in May 2027.
Mitchell Lake Campground is located 19 km south of Rocky Mountain House on Highway 22 and 10 km west on a gravel access road. A small campground with two walk-in tenting sites, and three open, gravel sites next to the parking lot are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Enjoy the easy access of the hand launch for your canoes or electric powered boats or check out one of the several beautiful piers where you can cast a line and catch some trout.
