Crescent Falls Provincial Recreation Area is located 22 km west of Nordegg on Hwy 11 and 6 km north on a gravel access road. Crescent Falls Provincial Recreation Area has a First-Come, First Served Campground with 12 tent-only sites and 22 RV sites. The day use area includes two viewing platforms of the falls, picnic tables, and a 3 km trail that takes you from the lower day use area to a viewpoint of the Bighorn Canyon.

    Public Safety - Swift Water & Below Waterfalls Access Prohibited

    • The Bighorn River is fast flowing with cold mountain water. Do not wade or swim in the water above or below the falls – this area is a special protection zone and access is prohibited.
    • The waterfalls have a strong undertow that goes down 30 feet which can drown a person. The river can sweep you off your feet and pull you down stream. Severe injury and death have occurred.
    • Stay to the day use areas, designated trails and behind fences at all time to protect yourself and the environment.
    • There is no cell phone service in the park, please plan ahead.
