Fall, Winter and Spring Camping

Enjoy camping any season! Even though many people consider camping to be a summer activity, some campgrounds remain open until Thanksgiving, and a few are open year-round. Some of our best camping is enjoyed in the fall. Golden leaves crunch on the trail and the smell of campfire smoke lingers in the campground. Check out our Time to Relax in Alberta's Provincial Parks story for more details on camping in fall or winter. Here are some important differences to remember when camping in the fall, winter or spring:

    • *Call before you go
    • Self-registration may be in effect
    • Dress in layers
    • Be prepared for all kinds of weather
    • You may need to bring fire wood
    • You may need to bring potable water
    • Showers and flush toilets will most likely be closed
