    ACIMS has a new Data Search Map. The improved ACIMS Data Search Map is updated daily and provides users access to current Element Occurrence (EO) data.

    Additional improvements include:

    1. New ways to search for EOs using coordinates, shapefiles, ATS Quarter Sections, and by drawing a search area.
    2. New ACIMS search reports (ACIMS Data Screening Reports)
    3. Instructions explaining how to create an ACIMS Data Screening Report provided directly on the search map
    4. Ability to export EO search results as a table or spatial file (geodatabase or shapefile)
    5. Option for users to change basemaps and add additional layers

    Users can also access ACIMS Non Sensitive and Sensitive EO data using the new Feature Services. These Feature Services allow users to access ACIMS EO data using Geographical Information System (GIS) software. Links to these Feature Services are provided on the ACIMS download page. These Feature Services have replaced the shapefile and kml downloads.

    Plant, Lichen & Fungi Data Submission Form

    When submitting plant, lichen and fungi data to ACIMS, please use the data submission forms for plants, lichen and fungi to enable the efficient capture and storage of submitted data. The Rare Native Plant, Lichen and Fungi Data Submission Form contains a number of fields for location, site and population information. Please include

    • Information pertaining to survey area (shape files, track files, etc) and survey effort (number of person hours)
    • Information that can be used to confirm specimen id (close-up photos of characteristic features, specimen location and name of person who conducted identification
    • Use the email subject line "Data Submission"
    • Send the data submission form and any additional survey information (e.g. shapefiles, maps, photos, reports) and photos as attachments to [email protected].

    ACIMS is a data centre that provides biodiversity information on Alberta's species, natural ecological communities and sites. Information about the location, condition, status and trends of selected elements is collected, updated, analyzed and disseminated.
