Directions

You'll find a camping experience like no other in Writing-on-Stone Provincial Park, 32 km east of Milk River on Hwy. 501, 9 km south on Hwy 500, and 1 km south on an access road. Camp in the mystical Milk River Valley in the shade of the trees at thus full service campground. Sites are suitable for tents and RVs, and there are unserviced and powered options. Explore the pictographs and hoodoos or join a guided walk. Relax on the sunny beach or swim and float in the river. Discover why people have loved and respected this site for thousands of years.

The shower building is open during the summer. Showers accept loonies and toonies only.

Note: There is no ATM on site, nor cash-back services at the park.  We suggest campers stop at an ATM in Milk River or Foremost before heading to the park.
