This gem of Alberta's southern Rockies is in Chinook Provincial Recreation Area, 8 km west of Coleman off Hwy 3. Chinook Campground features over 90 well-treed sites in 4 different fully reservable camping loops including a tenting loop. Enjoy canoeing, kayaking, or swimming in beautiful Chinook Lake, or hike and mountain bike on the trails. In winter enjoy the groomed cross-country ski trails.

- Permitted activities may vary within a park. Please confirm details with park staff.
- Cross-country Skiing: The Crowsnest Nordic Ski Club grooms and supports the Nordic Ski and Multiuse Trail System. trail reports for groomed trails in Allison-Chinook area.
- Summer Access: May 1 - November 30; hiking and mountain biking are excellent on the Allison Chinook Trail Network in the summer.
- Winter Access: There is no vehicle access beyond the Allison Brood Trout Station and the Atlas day use area (neither are Alberta Parks sites) in winter. Access roads are gated. The roads are groomed as cross-country ski trails.
