  • Sustaining Grassland with Cattle

    Effective:  June 3, 2021

Please respect the electric fence and cattle grazing in parts of Chain Lakes Provincial Park.  A partnership with a local rancher helps keep grassland healthy & reduces fire risk for the area.  If you are camping in Loop C, please use the trail to loop B to get to the lakeshore.   To ensure the native grassland ecosystem is supported which includes endangered species such as fescue grass and montane flowers, grazing is timed to reduce invasive grasses that also pose a fire risk later in the summer.
