Hangingstone Provincial Recreation Area is located near the Hangingstone River, 35km south of Fort McMurray. This is a smaller campground perfect for those looking to enjoy rustic camping. Other recreational opportunities are available at nearby parks, which are easily accessible with a short drive: Gregoire Lake Provincial Park, Maqua Lake Provincial Recreation Area, and Stony Mountain Wildland Provincial Park. Bring along your binoculars for sighting raptors and other songbirds in the treetops and for star gazing after dark.
