Due to the shallow lakebed and prevailing winds constantly pushing sand onto shore, the boat launch at English Bay Provincial Recreation Area may temporarily not be suitable for bigger boats, e.g. wake or surf type.
Larger motor boats can be launched at the Cold Lake Provincial Park boat Launch, or the City of Cold Lake marina.
There is no charge for boat launching and parking is available at Cold lake Provincial Park Launch
The City of Cold Lake marina charges a daily boat launch fee
