  • Construction Closure - Buller Mountain Day Use

    Effective:  May 29, 2021

      • Effective Date: There will be two closure periods - May 29 to June 2, 2021 and June 7 to June 11, 2021
      • Where: Buller Mountain Day Use
      • Why: To support the construction and installation of a new bathroom building in the trailhead parking area. Due to the location of the new facility, work crews require the entrance road for construction staging that will block all access to the day use area.

      Public looking for alternatives to Buller Mountain Day Use can visit other day use areas in Spray Valley Provincial Park including:

      • Spray Lake Day Use
      • Sparrowhawk Day Use
      • Driftwood Day Use 

    Affected Areas
  • Full Closure - Galatea Trail

    Effective:  May 4, 2021

      Effective Date: May 4, 2021 until further notice

      Where: The Galatea Trail from the Terrace Trail junction to Lillian Lake (backcountry campground closed), including the Guinn’s Pass and Galatea Lakes sections. All access prohibited.

      The Terrace Trail to the Kananaskis Village remains open.

      Why: An annual seasonal closure exists in this area to prevent trail degradation and environmental damage to the surrounding areaduring snowmelt.

      Offenders will be issued a fine of $180 or be compelled to attend court for failing to obey the lawfully posted signs and notices.
