A Kananaskis Conservation Pass is required to park your vehicle in Kananaskis and the Bow Valley.

This equestrian campground is found in Dawson Provincial Recreation Area, 51 km east of Canmore on Hwy. 1, 7 km south on Hwy. 40, 11 km east on Hwy. 68 and 2 km south on Powderface Trail. There are several drive-up sites suitable for RVs, as well as some walk-in tenting sites. There are hitching rails, loading ramps and access to trails for horseback riding as well as for hiking and mountain biking. Equestrian campgrounds are intended for campers bringing a horse. Please only book at an equestrian campground if you are using it for equestrian purposes as there are only a few campgrounds available to these users.

  • If more than 2 horses there is an additional $7 cost per horse per night.
Water

Water is available from a hand pump at this site. Although Alberta Parks strives to maintain water quality, we recommend that you bring your own drinking water.
