Strachan Provincial Recreation Area, located along Prairie Creek, is roughly 30 kilometres southwest of Rocky Mountain House. The rustic campground provides day use, overnight camping and group use facilities. Camping is available on a “first come-first served” basis; group use is available by reservation only.
Fish for trout in Prairie Creek or trailer to the informal off-highway vehicle and snowmobile trails in the vicinity. (OHV/snowmobile off-loading within the recreation area is prohibited).

        • Fishing: Fish for trout and mountain whitefish. Check the Alberta Guide to Sportfishing Regulations for info on licenses, seasons and catch limits.
        • OHV Riding/Snowmobiling: There are informal trails in the vicinity. OHV/snowmobile off-loading within the campground and travel to trails from campsites is PROHIBITED.
