After driving 5 kms up the access road, you will end up at the Shunda Viewpoint Group site which gives you a lovely view of the next valley with 2 benches to rest on. There are ATV trails offsite which join onto the rail trail (developed to reach the Taunton Bridge at Saunders). If you are there in September, you can take advantage of the beautiful fall colors all along the David Thompson Highway.
Location: 26 km east of Nordegg & 5 km north on access road (off Hwy. 11)
Located near the old Shunda Ranger Station, the viewpoint provides a panoramic view of the Brazeau Range and North Saskatchewan River valley; great access to OHV trails.
