Rochon Sands Provincial Park is operated by the Summer Village of Rochon Sands under a lease agreement with the Province of Alberta. This long-term lease provides some flexibility in how the campground is operated. Check with the Summer Village of Rochon Sands for more information on services offered.

- Permitted activities may vary within a park. Please confirm details with park staff.
- Access: to park is closed from mid-October to early-May.
- Birding: With its many shallow bays, Buffalo Lake provides nesting sites for great blue herons, black-crowned night-herons, Canada geese, ducks, common terns, American avocets and ring-billed gulls. Ross's geese, American white pelicans and piping plovers may also be seen. Other species include northern orioles, western wood-pewee, great horned and short-eared owls, and golden and bald eagles.
- Wildlife viewing: White-tailed deer, mule deer and coyotes are seen here.
- Wildlife safety: Although not common, Rochon Sands Provincial Park has had bears visit. Download our Bear Smart brochure.
- Boating: No person shall operate a power-driven vessel at a speed in excess of 10km/hr within 30m of the shore (per Section 7 of the Vessel Operation Restriction Regulations).
