Road Warning - Winter Road Conditions - Use Caution

    Effective Date: December 15, 2025 - Until Further Notice

    Where: Phyllis Lake Campground , Phyllis Lake PRA

    Details: Winter weather may lead to hazardous seasonal road conditions when entering the park. Please use caution when driving:
    • We recommend that visitors utilize 4x4 when driving into the park. 
    • Excess gravel is available at the top and bottom of the hill if needed for extra traction

Phyllis Lake Campground, in Phyllis Lake Provincial Recreation Area is 33 km south of Rocky Mountain House on Hwy. 22 and 7 km west on Hwy. 591. This scenic little foothills lake is suited to canoeing, fishing and boating with electric powered motors only. There are 21 campsite, most of which are open to each other and face the lake. They are suited for both RVs and tents and available on a first come first serve basis.

Firewood
  • Firewood alert! Firewood not available. Help stop the spread of forest pests, Dutch elm disease and emerald ash borer.  Plan to buy firewood locally, burn on site, never bring home.
Water

Recent changes to the recreation area regulation under the Public Health Act have affected provision of drinking water in this campground – we cannot absolutely guarantee that water from hand pumps is free of pathogens because of the risk of ground water contamination. As a result, Alberta Parks recommends that you bring your own drinking water.
