Harlech Provincial Recreation Area is located 13 km east of Nordegg on Highway 11. The campground is well-treed, offering ideal sites for smaller RVs and tents. Anglers can fish along Shunda Creek or drive 5 km west along Highway 11 to the stocked trout pond.
This location is a staging point for Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) enthusiasts. In partnership with the Rail Trail Initiative, six designated ride-in/ride-out campsites (sites 12-17) are available for OHV users, making it easy to stage your adventure.

Fishing: in addition to fishing in Shunda Creek, there's also a fish pond stocked with rainbow trout.
Hiking: from Harlech PRA, Shunda Creek Trail can be followed 10 km downstream until it reaches the North Saskatchewan River.
OHV riding/snowmobiling: In partnership with The Rail Trail initiative, Harlech PRA has created six campsites accessible to OHV’s. Ride in and stay at campsites 12-17 or stage your OHV camp from this location.
