Gooseberry Lake is a beautiful hub for local activities. The Day Use Area features a playground and a spray park, operated by The Special Areas Board. It also has a change room and flush toilets.
The Day Use Area contains many picnic tables and firepits, and makes for a great jumping off point to explore the trails. Although no longer suitable for water sport recreation, the lake is an important bird area, and birders will love walking around the lake to see an amazing assortment of waterfowl and prairie species.
This park is located near the Village of Consort. It is different than Gooseberry Provincial Recreation Area, which is located near Kananaskis Country, along Highway 66.
